Happy Birthday Shelly!

Back just a few years ago,
In a small town in the northeast,
Was born a beautiful baby
That’s now married to me

The pictures I’ve seen show a girl,
happy and cheerful and gay,
I think a little bit spoiled,
maybe not so much today.

Today she has kids of her own,
that love her with all of their hearts,
and a husband who knows what he has,
and from her will never depart.

She loves to be around horses,
and the kids that come here to ride,
She never complains about mucking,
Or always being outside.

She has learned to be a horse whisperer,
That much is certainly clear,
Something about the life that she leads,
Seems to make her grow younger each year.

June 24th is her birthday,
Like last year and the one before that,
27 times I have been there,
As we put on her birthday hat.

So now as she turns 29 here,
Thanks to the good lord above,
Today is my Shelly’s birthday!
Happy Birthday to the one that I love!
