How to train a horse part 1

1

We haven’t shown too much of Shelly’s training skills. Shelly is one of those natural horse people – she and horses seem to speak the same language. Shelly has been taught by some of the best including John Lyons and Clinton Anderson as well as several nationally ranking local trainers.

We thought you might like to see how it is done. Training a horse is much the same as ‘training’ a dog, or a child. It takes patience, repetition and consistency.

This is the first lesson with Sugar who has just joined the boarders here at the barn. We welcome Marcus, Martha and Grace to High Country Stables. Grace was surprised Christmas morning to see her horse Sugar in her new stall at the barn!

I am so glad to see this! I have been very interested in watching someone train first hand. I am a great fan of both Clinton Anderson and John Lyons, I have several of John’s books and monthly magazines.. Shelly, this is wonderful! Great idea. Rita
