2011 RIFNA Riders

Congratulations to all our 2011 RIFNA riders. You girls rocked it this year! 4 National Champs and 3 Reserve Champs and everyone placed.

Our next NWGHA Show is May 12th! Come see us at Bartow arena in Cartersville.

Our summer camps filled up quickly this year. There is one slot left in the Little Tykes camp. Can’t believe school is almost out and summer is here??

We have baby birds everywhere!! Chickens, ducks, geese and the little birds that run around in the pastures – don’t know what they are called! Stop by and say hello!!

Districts meet and we rocked it!


Congratulations to our 2012 RIFNA riders. They did an awesome job yesterday at In Your Dreams Farms. We took home 5 District Winners. April 28th and 29th we will be back at In Your Dreams Farm for Championships.

We had 5 more baby chicks hatch! I do believe a video is coming with all the new babies and lush green pastures. For the first time ever we have grass bellies on our horses. Life is good!

Dallas and Chance are doing great in our lesson program and Rosie is well and back on track to jumping and getting ready for her first Hunter Show.

This weekend is going to the dogs – paws4people that is. Miami and I are off to Wilmington for the first annual paws4people reunion and certification. It is going to be awesome to finally meet all the people who have worked to make this organization what it is today!

April is hopping with fun dates and horse shows! Can’t wait to write that post and fill you in on all the details!

5 loads of sand in the ring and lots of green grass!

We always know Spring is right around the corner when the Bradford Pear Trees come in to bloom, the geese and ducks return to the lake and our hens sit protectively on their nests. We really can’t complain too much about the winter. It was very mild, probably too mild, afraid the flies are going to be bad this year.

HCS had a great show weekend! The girls came home with lots of Blue ribbons, faster running times, tired horses and smiling faces. You guys rock!

To insure all our RIFNA riders qualify for Districts, we are holding one last show, here, Saturday March 17th at 2:00. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch. The Districts show is March 25th at In Your Dreams Farm in Alpharetta.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season! We sure did! Many thanks for all my wonderful Christmas presents. I think everyone wants me fat! We still have cookies and candies on our kitchen counter.

The barn is full and our lesson program is awesome. We have 18 students signed up for RIFNA and hopefully all will be qualified for Regionals this Spring. Our next meet is January 28th & 29th at In Your Dreams Farm. We will host a meet February 28th.

January 16th we have our first Fun Day of the year! 9:00 to 3:00 – $45.00 for lesson students and $55.00 for non-lesson students.

Our Drill Team is picking back up and hopefully, when we have a Spring Fundraiser we will be able to perform. Very excited about this.

December 2nd is our annual Christmas party. We are spending the week decorating the farm if all this rain doesn’t wash us away. But you should see the grass. We fertilized, seeded and limed the 1st of October and now everything is so green – early Christmas present to all the horses!

December 27th – Boxing Day – we are having the last Fun Day of the year!

We were sad to say good-bye to Kiwi! She went home to her owners. I know Sara was happy to have her back and ready to start riding her again.

We want to welcome Sugar and Busta to the farm. Sugar is a rescued Mustang who needs lots of love and carrots. Busta has come down from Ohio. He is an Arab who has shown dressage in the past and a very sweet boy! Snickers will be arriving at the end of the month. He is going to take Sherle to State in the running events!! Go, Sherle!!

HCS has a new horse – Chance! He is too cute, goes English or Western and we are excited to add him to our lesson program.

Our RIFNA team is up and running! We will have our first meet in December over the holidays.

October 29th was the last PCSC show of the season. So, proud of Emily and Rosie – it was Rosie’s first show – and they did awesome!

All the HCS riders did a great job showing this season. The PCSC Awards Banquet is coming up and we can’t wait to see all the awards and trophies the girls will be bringing home.

What were you doing at 12 years old?

Today – in 2011 – paws4people™ has over 175 dogs who are certified and working or in their training program throughout nine Mid- Eastern states. paws4people™ specializes in placing dogs with children and adolescents, active duty soldiers and veterans with physiological, psychological, physical, emotional and other challenges. The difference a dog makes in these people’s life is profound.

Dogs are trained in federal prisons by female inmates in another program started and run by Kyria – paws4prisons™. In this way, our programs are allowing these ladies an opportunity to give back to society while caring for a dog 24/7/365. Again, the affect is profound.

More than 150 people volunteer with the program. We use dogs to teach kids to read, help kids to walk, visitations at senior homes and so much more.

So, glad the weather is finally cooling and we are able to get in lots of ride time! Which is a good thing considering all the Fall horse shows we have coming up! September 17th we will be at Wild Horse Park in Powder Springs. October 8th we will be at Bartow Saddle Club in Cartersville for the start of the 2012 State season. October 29th we are back at Wild Horse Park for our annual charity show and November 12th we are back to Bartow! Wish us luck!

We were sad to see Jeri, Rascal and Mexico leave. Jeri has bought her own farm in Blue Ridge. If you know anyone in that area looking for natural horsemanship training, Jeri is taking on new clients!!

Willie has gone into semi-retirement, helping Keri at her farm with all the beginner riders! We will miss him terribly but at least he is close enough for us to visit whenever we want!

Rosie is fit and sleak and ready for her first show this weekend!

Cowgirl, our newest addition, is also heading to the show. She is a three year old Hancock bred blue roan and absolutely the cutest thing ever!! She is also Shelly’s reining horse!
