Meet the trainer!

Shelly Phillips has been working with horses since she was 18. She has completed several natural horsemanship clinics and seminars. Shelly trains and teaches Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, Equitation, Horsemanship, Showmanship, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, and reining to her students and their horses. She loves helping kids and adults alike to complete their equestrian goals.

We will start your horse in the round pen, gaining respect and control on the ground and will expose them to “scary” things like plastic bags, trash bags, umbrellas etc. Horses will be taught how to bend softly doing lateral and vertical flexion, backing and yielding to leg pressure, on the ground and in the saddle. We will cruise horses at the walk, trot and canter, teaching them to stop off your seat and the one rein stop.

Our training goal is to produce a quiet yet responsive horse that is willing and eager to work. We will teach those skills to the horse first and then we will work with you to make sure that you know how to correctly ask the horse what he/she has been taught.

Training with full board is $750.00 a month
Training with partial board is $550.00
