We bought this land in Feb 2002 and started clearing and building. Sometimes it is good to look back!

Summer is flying towards us quickly! (We had to thin all the peaches yesterday already!)

If you are thinking of signing up for a summer camp – (and we have added two evening camps this year!) – please do not delay in getting a deposit in. There are also two fun day camps available.

We are advertising this year so we can offer the camps to people who might not know about High Country Stables.

On the [camps page->http://highcountrystables.com/horse-riding-camps/] we added a line to show how many spots are open for each camp – and will try our best to keep it up to date.

We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Isn’t it nice to have spring finally here?

And with the nice weather comes a flood of [birthday parties->birthday-pony-parties-dallas-ga/] and trail rides. If you are thinking (or know someone who is) of having a [birthday pony party->birthday-pony-parties-dallas-ga/] or a nice [trail ride->horseback-riding-atlanta/] – don’t wait until the last minute to reserve a date!

Katie and her friends came last week on one of the prettiest days of the year… Here is a short video.

We spent last week in Florida (it was our Christmas gift to ourselves) and thoroughly enjoyed getting away. Even though it was cold and a bit wet, we still had a great time.

This is the video from the camcorder – Shelly is still working on her pictures…

Thanks so very much for all of you who helped keep the horses fed and taken care of while we were gone! It was great knowing we had you here!

Wow. It is hard to believe we have a week until Christmas! Thankfully, in only five days the days start getting longer again!

Here is the latest…

Dec 21  Day Camp Full

If you waited until the last minute, you have waited a little too long as this camp is full! It looks like nice weather is on tap for next week too!

HCS Christmas Party

About 60 people showed up for the annual HCS Christmas party with lots of food and fun. There was a huge rugby game in the ring, and music by the fire… A good time was had by all! Thanks for coming!

We are looking for warmer weather next week – time to fix all the broken water pipes!

See you soon!

Get your camera’s ready! May is “best photo of the month” contest. Send us your favorite HCS horsey picture and win a free 1 hour riding lesson. We will pick the winner May 30th!

One of my favorite boys!

Spring and warmer days are finally here! The wintry weather seemed like it would never leave and now, all the trees are green, the flowers are blooming and our lake is full of baby geese and ducks! I love this time of year! All the horses are losing their winter coats and no longer look like Woolly Mammoths.

We have been working very hard on the farm, spreading grass seed, picking up rocks, building a bunny pen and mending fences. The horses are being very patient, waiting for the grass to grow. Today we put Dixie and Val in the front pasture and it was so fun watching them run through the fields and flowers!

Don’t forget to sign up for summer camp! The first two camps are almost full! There are only 1 or 2 spots left.

Happy Trails,
The HCS Group!

Last week we had the first of many birthday pony parties booked here at the stables this year. As you can see from the video, the room was decorated like crazy – and the kids all had a great time!

You can go to the cheesy place – but at the stables the kids get to experience horseback riding, pig petting, geese and duck watching, and sometimes they even get to hold a chicken! Amy kids have never done any of these things!

And the adults like it so much more!

This is our 25th Valentine’s day since we got married – and the first one in a long time with snow on the ground!

Ryan, although sick all week, somehow miraculously got well in time to snowboard with a feed bag!
